Our History

Beating Time originated as a quartet in 1996, inspired by listening to a ladies barbershop quartet at the Cork Choral Festival. Making their first TV debut on RTE's Open House 1997, membership quickly grew from the original eight members to 23.
As Members of the Irish Association of Barbershop Singers, Beating Time compete each year at the National Convention and over the years, have taken the Gold Medal seven times for Best Female National Chorus.

In October 2009 Beating Time walked away with Silver at the 21st Anniversary Convention at the Helix, Dublin and hope to compete again in Limerick in October 2010.
