Audition Procedure Our auditioning process is divided into two parts
Part I
First night – Short
voice test at end of session to gauge voice range and ascertain voice part which entails singing some scales with music team, replicate a sequence of 3 or 4 unrelated pitches, sing
a song of your choice, using expression and vocal ability.If you have the voice range we are looking for, you
are welcome to join us for rehearsal each Thursday from 8pm
to 9.30pm – we usually rehearse repertoire between 9.30 and 10. You will be provided with sheet music and learning
tapes. After a period of 3 4 weeks you will be ready to take the second part of the audition.
Part II
Voice test after 3-4 weeks
rehearsal. You will be required to sing your own
part in a quartet, holding the line consistently, and performing relevant choreography. At minimum we expect a singer to
be able to:
* Consistently match pitch with an acceptable tone
* Hold their part in a quartet
* Demonstrate an ability to learn and perform choreography
* Show emotion
on face, and with body posture
